Happy 72nd birthday this week to Bob Dylan. The legendary singer-songwriter was born on May 24, 1941. Dylan defined a generation with legendary hits like Blowin' In The Wind, Lay Lady Lay, Knockin' On Heaven's Door (later remade by Guns 'n Roses) and his biggest hit, 1965's Like A Rolling Stone.

Also sending birthday wishes to Patti LaBelle. Patti turns 69 this week. With her group LaBelle, Patti rocketed to fame in the 70s with big hits, including Lady Mamalade. Patti also went on to score a hit with Michael McDonald on 1986's On My Own.
Our congratulations to legendary singer-songwriter Carole King. Carole became the first female recipient of the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. She was the guest of honor at Wednesday night's White House gala. She opened the evening singing Beautiful from her landmark Tapestry album. President Obama and Vice President Biden joined in to celebrate Carole's remarkable career.
Legendary Creedence Clearwater Revival front man John Fogerty will be in our iHeartRadio studio for a special live performance this evening (Thursday, May 23rd) beginning at 7pm. Fogerty's gritty vocals propelled CCR to tremendous success in the late 60s and early 70s with hits like Proud Mary, Have You Ever Seen The Rain, Green River, Fortunate Son and many more. The group had tremendous success, but never scored at #1 hit. They peaked at #2 on the chart a few different times over the years, but never a #1.

The Jersey Boys movie is back on track. Fans should feel lucky because Clint Eastwood has taken the director's chair. The movie, which has been on and off the schedule at various studios the last few years, is now a definite go. It's expected to feature just about all of the songs from the Broadway musical of the last eight years. The Jersey Boys dramatizes the formation, career and eventual breakup of The Four Seasons.
Graceland could soon have a new owner. The Financial Times has reported that Core Media, the majority owner of the Presley properties in Memphis and rights to the Elvis image, has put them on the market--with an asking price of more than $200 million. The group also owns the image of boxing champ Muhammad Ali. Core Media also owns the TV shows American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance.

George Michael was in a car accident last week. A witness told authorities that Michael fell out of a car going 70 miles an hour. Katherine Fox, who was driving behind the car carrying George Michael, told Britain's Sun, "He was lucky he didn't die. There was a nasty cut on his forehead and the back of his head...He was breathing and conscious, but in shock." Reuters is reporting that Michael is still in the hospital for observation.
