"We Are Family" is not applying to Sister Sledge these days. They are set to duke it out in court.
According to a lawsuit filed by the group in July, Kathy Sledge, who went solo 25 years ago, has been using the name without permission. The Sledges are upset that Kathy billed a recent Australian tour as "Sister Sledge Featuring Kathy Sledge," and since they own the name, they want damages.
The suit also says that the current group offered to reunite with Kathy but was turned down. Can't we all get along?
