The legendary Roy Orbison would've celebrated his birthday this week. Roy was born on April 23, 1936 in Vernon, Texas. Roy moved with his family to the small West Texas town of Wink where he later formed The Wink Westerners. Roy then rose to worldwide fame in the early 60s with hits like Crying, Only The Lonely and his all-time biggest hit Oh, Pretty Woman which was released in 1964. Roy moved back in the spotlight in the late 80s as a member of The Traveling Wilburys, along with Tom Petty, George Harrison, Bob Dylan and Jeff Lynne. Roy hit the charts as a solo act in 1989, a few months after he passed away on December 6, 1988.
