Def Leppard song on the way

Def Leppard bassist Rick Savage recently revealed that the band has just mastered a new single featuring Tom Morello from Rage Against the Machine. Morello, a longtime fan of Def Leppard, will be playing solo on this new track—which will be released soon.

Lead singer Joe Elliott also addressed a persistent rumor that Def Leppard uses backing tracks during their live performances. Elliott's response was candid and confident. He expressed flattery rather than anger toward those who question the band's authenticity.

According to Elliott, their standards are different. Def Leppard's rigorous rehearsal process and the band members' exceptional talent allow them to deliver an outstanding live experience. Elliott even extended an invitation to skeptics: "Come stand side stage with a pair of headphones on, and you'll hear what's truly coming out of the stage."

Elliott clarified that Def Leppard does not rely on backing tracks. Instead, they use effects to enhance their sound. When multiple vocalists are involved, effects are essential. The band incorporates keyboards and a few drum loops, but they have never used pre-recorded backing vocals or mimed to vocal tracks. Def Leppard's performances are genuinely live, a testament to their musical prowess.

As the band celebrates its 40th anniversary, fans can look forward to a special edition of their classic album, Pyromania, releasing in various configurations on April 26th.

Their next tour is scheduled to begin July 6th in St. Louis.
