ELTON JOHN: Taron Egerton cast in lead role in upcoming bio-pic
Hollywood has found the man to play Elton John.
Variety says Taron Egerton will star in the upcoming Rocketman bio-pic. Paramount Pictures is said to be close to a deal to finance and distribute the film. Deadline.com adds that the 29-year-old Egerton will sing the songs Elton made famous.
The project will follow Elton from his days at the Royal Academy of Music to teaming with lyricist Bernie Taupin and becoming one of the legends of rock and roll.
Elton and his husband David Furnish are co-producing the movie. Cameras are expected to roll this summer.
